The Wing Team
Hospital Wing medical crews are scheduled 24/7, 365 days of the year at all three bases. We provide care with flight nurses and flight paramedics who have a minimum of 5 years background experience in critical and emergency care. They receive extensive preparation and training within our medical specialists hospitals initially and annually. All the medical crew members must maintain advanced medical certifications to include advanced burn, cardiac, medical, neurological, pediatric emergencies and trauma care. This care is provided in the air with the specialized medical equipment and supplies available to the crew within the helicopters.
Our pilots must have 3,000 hours total flight time with 2,000-helicopter time as a pilot in command. They receive vigorous flight training and annual FAA check rides. All phases of maintenance for the helicopters are provided at Hospital Wing facilities with our in-house aviation mechanics.
